IMPORTANT: Heating Outage Tomorrow (Monday, November 12, 2018)

Everyone,

I realize it’s unfortunate timing, given the drops in temperature and Veterans Day being observed by many tomorrow, however, we are going to have to turn the heat off tomorrow, for some much-needed repairs to be made to one of our pumps. You might recall that, back in early October, when announcing the pending switch to heat, I’d given warning that such work would be coming. The necessary parts had, unfortunately, not be available at a more appropriate time, and the longer we go without making them, the more likely we are to risk being without heat unexpectedly, for longer, and at greater cost. The upside to this is that what was originally going to be at least a two-day job is going to be done in one, as the contractor has agreed to double up the team, to compensate for their inability to do the work earlier. We’re tentatively saying the heat will be off from ~ 6:30 am to ~ 6:30 pm, but that’s hopefully going to be substantially longer than the actual time.

As a reminder, again, please DO NOT USE SPACE HEATERS!!! I’d recommend that if you have windows or sliding-glass doors open at the moment, you close them by tonight, and perhaps turn up the heat to leave things slightly toastier than usual in the morning. Be prepared to bundle up if you need to, and draw yourself a hot bath if it comes down to it (my understanding, at least, is that the hot water won’t be affected, but I could be mistaken).

Thank you, and I apologize for the inconvenience this may cause.
