By now, you should have all see the notices on the doors, so this should not be new to anyone.
As part of the overhaul that’s been ongoing in the boiler room, an electric panel is being replaced, unfortunately, to do this all power running to the 3830s must be taken off line. In addition to being a major inconvenience to the residents in the 3830s, without power, the boiler room will not be able to pump heat and hot water throughout any of the property.
We’ve been told this likely will not take the entire 12 hours, but we think it’s best to prepare just in case.
Residents should prepare in advance of the 8am outage by showering, dish washing, and clothes laundering if necessary before hand.
[notice]Do NOT use a space or electric heater! These devices will blow the main breaker in your building, and cause you and your neighbors to additionally have no power. Do bundle up warmly if necessary![/notice]
For those residents who will be without power, dry ice will be provided in the event you notified management no later than noon on November 19, 2014. I realize that as of this posting, that deadline has passed, for which I apologize (website issues), but the posted notices in the door included this information as well.
As always, we apologize for the inconvenience this will cause. The property is nearly 50 years old, but by making these improvements we hope to both increase the reliability of our utilities and decrease the likelihood of unexpected failures.
