A/C Update

It is with much frustration and disappointment that I regret to inform everyone we still do not have A/C.

I’ve been told that the closed loop pipe (to supply the chilled water) is too close to the domestic hot water pipe to allow it to be clamped. This means they have to cut through both pipes to make the repairs, furthermore, this means a welder has to be called in to reattach the pipes as well as the repair.

I’m sure by now you see where I’m going with this… We’re looking at tomorrow to finish the repairs and have A/C.

I’ll continue to keep everyone updated.

A/C Status

[notice]A/C Delay[/notice]

As you’re likely to notice if you’re (or when you get) home, the A/C is not on, as we’d originally hoped. We’d actually attempted to switch over early, on Friday, but unfortunately we were quick to discover a very large leak in the system, forcing us to shut it down.

The good news is that, since we switched it on earlier, we were able to start the ball rolling when it comes to fixing it earlier too. The bad news is that it’s still a slow process, as the first step is waiting for Miss Utility, before the actual pipe repair can be done.

They were able to start work today, but the water had created too much mud causing the sides of the trench to collapse. This means they have to sure up the trench as well, meaning it’s very unlikely the pipe will get repaired today.

We’re still holding out hope, but the current ETA for the A/C is now Tuesday. Hopefully we won’t discover anything new, but be aware that the estimate could change. I’ll post any updates as I hear them.
