Pool Passes

Everyone, we finally got a hold of the proper people at Fairways, and we hope to make arrangements to distribute the pool passes this weekend! I’ll post an update once I have specifics, but it’s typically been between 10 and 2 both days. You should be receiving a mailing shortly regarding everything.

In the meantime, feel free to download the rules and regulations in both English and Spanish.

Again, I will post an update once I have more information on when you can get the passes.

A/C In the 3830s

If you live in 3832 or 3834, you’ve likely been wondering why, despite your proximity to the boiler room, your A/C wasn’t cooling properly.

Ron came in over the holiday weekend twice to try and resolve it, and this morning we even had NAC and Hurley. Apparently we couldn’t catch a break, until this afternoon.

First, there was an air lock in one of the top units – this basically means air has gotten into the line, and being lighter than water has floated to the highest point, inside a top unit. This creates a blockage that prevents the water from flowing. Ron can fix these relatively easily, and he did. Unfortunately, it was not the only problem.

Last night, as many other residents noticed, the chiller itself switched off. We’re still looking into the cause of this, however, Ron was able to manually override the system in the short term, this restored A/C to the rest of the property, unfortunately it still didn’t fix the issue with the 3830s!

With NAC and Hurley both on site today, we were finally able to track down. Apparently a recently installed valve had not been opened. It’s unclear why no one documented the purpose of the valve so it could be opened in the first place, but now we know. The good news is that this valve should remain open, except when attempting to diagnose issues in the system.

So, hopefully everyone now has A/C! I do apologize for the inconveniences we’ve had this year, and I want to thank everyone for baring with us.

Please notify management immediately if you suspect the A/C is out! Don’t assume someone else has done so. The more reports we get, the better we can deduce the location of the problem, and the fast we can resolve and restore your A/C!

Pool Opening

If you’ve lived at Grand Bel Manor for more than a few years, you know the pool always opens Memorial Day weekend, and closes Labor Day weekend.

Well, it’s Memorial Day weekend, you might be saying to yourself, so why haven’t you heard anything, and where are the pool passes?

That’s a very good question, and I wish I had a proper answer for you, unfortunately I don’t, but I’ll tell you what I do know.

The swimming pool is owned and operated by Fairways Condominium, our neighbor, but we have a joint agreement to gain access – this means, sadly, that we have little say on how things are done.

It’s my understanding that the pool has been prepped, but I do not know if it’s being opened this weekend or not. I also know that our efforts to communicate with Fairways have gone unanswered. I sincerely hope they’ll start communicating with us soon so we can get everyone access to the pool for the summer!

Thanks for your time.
