Hot Water Outage, Nov 12th

[warning]Update: The outage has unfortunately been extended until after this afternoon.[/warning] [notice]There will be no hot water to unit 3800 to 3822 from approximately 9AM to 1PM[/notice]

We’ve yet again sprung a leak in the hot water line next to the boiler room. The lower half of the property can be isolated, however all buildings from 3800 to 3822 are fed by this hot water line, and will be without water while they attempt to make the repairs. Every effort will be made to complete this as soon as possible.

Thank you, and I apologize for the inconvenience.

Heating Update

I’ve got good news and bad news. The good news is…

[important]Residents from 3810 to 3822 now have heat![/important]

The bad news is…

[notice]Resident in 3800 and 3802 are still without heat.[/notice]

We were able to install a number of butterfly valves that allowed us to better isolate the buildings effected by the leak. It appears the leak was in an outgoing (to 3800 and 3802) heat pipe in a 3814 wall. They were able to dig out the pipe today, and a welder will be on site tomorrow. If everything goes well, we’re hoping we’ll have heat restored to both 3800 and 3802 as well.

I do apologize for the inconvenience. We’re working as fast as we can to maintain, replace, and repair the infrastructure without drastic increases in condo fees or special assessments, but it’s going to take time, and occasionally we’ll have to address some of these issues after the fact and not before.

No Heat (3800 to 3822)

[notice]Currently the residents in 3800 to 3822 do not have heat.[/notice]

Unfortunately, reports came in regarding a leak in the 3814 storage room this morning. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that a major leak had formed in the closed loop heating line. While we were able to isolate the lower half of the property, the units above will be without heat until some time Monday, at the earliest.

This is not a guarantee of heat on Monday, as the extent of the damage may be even more severe once we’re able to excavate and begin work.

Please note, hot water is still available, as this is on a different connection.  Again, [important]Hot Water is still available[/important].

I will update you as more information becomes available.

To those in the effected units (including myself), please do your best to conserve your heat. Thankfully, this occurred early in the season.
